This is a really excellent kit if you're looking to get started on sourdough or even just breadmaking in general. It gives you everything that you need to start, though admittedly, you'll likely be using so parts of this kit far more than others. The biggest advantage of this kit for me is the silicone proving baskets. I've had a few of these now but they have always been made with wicker. This is my first time trying silicone and it is so much easier to clean and maintain, though the payoff is that they tend to wobble around and bend when you ty to pic them up when they're full of dough, meaning to pattern is not as defined. The whisk also tends to get cloggged up quite often, but the proving bag and the slasher are excellent. I'd say that if you're a beginner looking to get into sourdough or breadmaking, this is an ideal place to start. It would also make a great gift too.

This sourdough starter kit pretty much has everything a beginner (or even someone already baking) could want to whip up some truly tasty sourdough. The banneton baskets seem well made and having two different sizes is handy for experimenting with loaf sizes. The Danish dough whisk feels good in your hand and makes mixing a lot easier compared to a regular spoon. One item I particularly liked was the silicone bread sling. It's such a great addition. No more wrestling with crinkled parchment paper that always seems to mess up the nice round shape you're aiming for. Sliding the dough in and out of the hot Dutch oven became surprisingly easy. It really makes a noticeable difference in the final look of the crust. If I had one tiny nitpick it would be the absence of a jar for keeping your sourdough starter happy and active. Considering the comprehensiveness of the rest of the kit, including a decent sized jar would have felt like the ultimate finishing touch. You can obviously use any jar but sourdough jars usually have extras like a band with day and time markings which you put round the jar and raise and lower when needed. Even without the jar, it's tough to argue with the value you get here. Trying to buy all these bits and pieces individually would likely set you back a bit more cash. The quality of everything included feels genuinely good. If you're looking to get into sourdough this kit is a really good starting point or if you're already into sourdough like myself, it's always good to have spare kit.

Absolutely cant fault it for the price! It contains bread proofing baskets, a dough mixer, and silicone mats + way more. It is all really compactly packaged, and I will say that my box was overflowing a bit when I got it but I think it would still make a good gift. It contains everything you need to start making bread from the prep point of view, just short of ingredients. The value for money is really good. As a starter kit this is such a good purchase. Seeing all the aesthetic bread making videos online can make it seem a bit overwhelming but here you get everything make a fancy loaf without breaking the bank.
